MITCH JOHNSON pushes for extra yards as the Bountiful Braves hammered Tooele 35-6 Friday night.
BOUNTIFUL — When you think of a high school homecoming football game, you usually think about the loud, cheering fans and the excitement thick in the air.

But Tooele High didn’t bring much, if anything, and Bountiful High put a home field whipping on the Buffaloes, 35-6.

The Braves, as expected, started fast, with a first down on the opening snap.

Just 2:15 into the game, Tyler Farr earned the first of his three touchdowns.

Farr followed up that with an eight-yard score and 15-yard score to push the first quarter lead to 21-0.

In the second quarter, behind its powerful offensive line, Ben Lemon scored from 11 yards and five yards out.

With the 35-0 lead at halftime, Bountiful coach Larry Wall was able to use other players for the rest of the game.

Quarterback Ty Talbot said, “We practiced hard, our coaches prepared us, and we played well.”

Wall used many younger players Friday.

“That helped them with confidence,” said Wall. “We’re not into blow-outs, just wins. We jumped on them and scored early; we are proud to come out with a win.”

Offensive coordinator Terry Rose agreed, “They played hard!”

The Braves are 4-0, highly touted throughout the state and now await Woods Cross, which looked very much ready for the game with its 27-9 win over previously undefeated Olympus.
