You know I would like to think that in writing this that this letter might be published. But I highly doubt that since the Clipper seems to be biased.

I read today the letter submitted by JoAnn Hamilton, and first I want to say shame on you, Joanne!

I am the daughter of Joe Johnson so you might think that I am biased and maybe I am. I have watched my dad struggle and spend sleepless nights over his responsibility to the citizens of Bountiful. No matter what he does he is going to make some people mad.

But to say that he hides and lies and doesn’t listen is a flat out lie itself. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. He takes his position very seriously and is fair to the citizens of Bountiful.

He goes against personal beliefs to make sure that everyone has a say and everyone has rights. JoAnn, just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean that it’s wrong. Who do you think you are?

And really what have you ever done to help the city? You think that putting up covers over magazines is going to save the children. What is going to save our children? Protecting them starts with teaching them tolerance and love and respect for everyone.

Who cares that El Matador serves beer? Guess what, I bet a lot of the people who live next to churches and schools have beer in their fridge.

Just because you drink doesn’t mean you aren’t a good person. I would hope that the citizens of Bountiful really see that these are the personal opinions of one person and see the truth that our mayor has sacrificed so much to serve you.

And for what? He doesn’t get much money, or fame. In fact, he gets more grief then what it is worth, but he does it because he loves this city with all of his heart. He was born here and he raised his family here.

I love my dad, and if this is published I hope this is the message that everyone gets.
