BOUNTIFUL — Jeffrey L. Novak has announced his candidacy for the post of mayor of Bountiful.
Novak is the former chair of Utah’s Coalition for Ethics and Accountability in Government and said in a press release, “Mayor (Joe) Johnson has served admirably, and I wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Johnson is seeking his third term as mayor.
Novak said he has a “thorough strategic plan for the next four years that will include increased transparency in government, the establishment of Utah’s first ethics committee, and more open communication with the people of Bountiful.”
Novak said he plans to “capitalize on his extensive experience gained from over 23 years in the USAF (U.S. Air Force) and his working knowledge of federal procurement” helping Utah businesses obtain more than $4 billion in federal contracts.
